Why do you
do it yourself?
For some, DIY means cheap
For others, it means fast
But that's not for me
I do it myself
so I can do what I want
(I never was one to go with the flow)
I do it myself
to give a part of myself
(I always loved personalized gifts more)
I do it myself
so I can know its true value
(sometimes the cost is blood, sweat, and tears)
But even more than doing it right and doing it best
when I do it myself
I am the one doing it
I am intimately involved in the creation
of something I can hold in my hands
something my hands made
Hand-made doesn't have to scream "homemade"
Hand-made can say "hand-crafted"
When my fingers are intimately involved in every stitch
every stitch can be precise
and every stitch carries a little bit of me with it
I do it myself
so that I can pour myself into
something I can hold in my hands
